Privacy notice
What we collect when you ask for a quote, what we do with it, and how to get it deleted. Last updated 16 September 2026.
Who we are
Neat Cleaning Co is a trading name, not a limited company. We clean driveways, patios, paths and decking for homeowners across Greater Manchester. We are the data controller for the information described here.
Contact us about anything on this page at hello@neatcleaning.uk or 07572 227009.
What we collect
When you ask for a quote, by the form on this site, by phone or on WhatsApp, we record:
- Your name and phone number.
- Your email address, if you give one. This is optional and the quote reaches you by text either way.
- The address of the property to be cleaned.
- What you want cleaned, the surface, its rough size, and which water supply is available.
- Any photographs of the surface you send us.
- Notes we make while dealing with your enquiry, and a record of when we contacted you.
We do not collect payment card details through this website, and we do not use advertising or tracking cookies. This site sets no cookies at all, so there is no banner to dismiss and nothing to switch off. How we count visits without them is described below.
How we measure the website
We want to know which pages are read and which buttons get pressed, so we can write about the things people actually ask about. We do that without identifying anybody and without storing anything on your phone or computer.
When you open a page we record:
- Which page, as an address like /blog — never the part after a question mark.
- Whether you pressed Get a price or WhatsApp.
- The site that sent you here, if any — google.com, for instance, but never what you searched for.
- Whether you are on a phone, a tablet or a computer, and which country you are in.
To count people rather than page loads we need to tell one visitor from another, and we do that without keeping anything about you. Your IP address and browser version are combined with a random number that our database makes fresh every day, and turned into a fingerprint that cannot be turned back. Your IP address itself is never written down. The random number is thrown away after a week, and because it changes at midnight the same person on two different days is two unrelated fingerprints — we can see that eleven people read an article on Tuesday, and we cannot tell whether any of them came back on Wednesday.
These figures are kept for 14 months and then deleted automatically. If your browser sends a Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control signal we record nothing at all, even though neither strictly applies to measurement that stores nothing.
Our host, Vercel, also collects anonymous page-view and page-speed figures for this site. Those are aggregated, set no cookies and are not linked to the information you give us.
We previously used Google Analytics, which did set cookies. It was removed on 16 September 2026 and replaced with the measurement described here.
Why we can use it
We use your details to price the work and to carry it out. Under UK GDPR our lawful basis is that the processing is necessary to take steps at your request before entering a contract, and to perform that contract once you accept a quote.
Where we keep a record of a job after it is finished, our basis is legitimate interests: being able to answer a question about work we did, honour the satisfaction guarantee, and keep proper business records.
Photographs of your property
Photographs are the reason we can quote a fixed price without sending someone to your house. They are stored privately, are not published, and are never used in our advertising, on this site or on social media without asking you first and getting a clear yes.
Who else sees it
Only the two of us who run the business, plus the suppliers that make the service work:
- Supabase stores the enquiry and the photographs, on servers in London.
- Twilio sends the text and WhatsApp messages. Twilio is based in the United States, so your name, number and message content are transferred there.
- Resend sends emailed quotes and confirmations, where you have given us an address.
- Vercel hosts this website.
Transfers outside the UK rely on the providers' standard contractual clauses. We do not sell your information, and we do not share it for anyone else's marketing.
How long we keep it
- Enquiries that do not become work: kept for 12 months, then deleted, in case you come back to us.
- Photographs: kept for 12 months after the job, then deleted. They are the most personal thing we hold and there is no reason to keep them longer.
- Records of completed work: kept for 6 years, which is the period we may need them for tax and for any dispute about the work.
Your rights
You can ask us for a copy of what we hold about you, to correct anything wrong, or to delete it. You can also object to us keeping it. Email hello@neatcleaning.uk and we will deal with it within one month.
Deleting an enquiry removes the record and the photographs together. Where we have already done work for you, we may need to keep the basic job and payment record for the 6 years described above, but we will delete everything else.
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
